Technical Details on S400SX-E Turbocharger

The new BorgWarner AirWerks^® S400SX-E turbocharger is built from the ground-up for performance applications. This new “E” series is engineered with product enhancements that boost it to another level. Features include:

• High-flow 10-blade Forged Milled Compressor Wheel (FMW) which offers increased tensile strength that improves resistance to failure versus billet & cast compressor wheels
• 360-degree Thrust Bearing System
• Substantial compressor flow increase and four points of compressor efficiency over the standard SX version (171702)

It comes from the factory paired with a 1.32 A/R divided turbine inlet which has a 5.75 marmon connection.

Note: This model is to replace Borgwarner part # 171702 and can replace 172743 if a wastegate isn’t needed. This model should eliminate the failure issues we are seeing on the standard Borgwarner models.
