Great article, but I have to say I dont agree that the newer designs make more piwer or fuel milage. Here’s why, I had a 89 DDEC 1 that was set at 425 hp, and 1650 torque. It pulled much stronger than the DDEC III or DDEC IV 500 HP engines do. And it consistently got 7.2 mpg. I think partly because it didn’t have low box tuning in it.
